I was the underbidder on the Diagrafic. The winner was from China. Don’t think it was Leo (hah!). And I bidded on it not because it was a White Star (also never heard of it before either) but because of the interesting complication. But I’ve been able to source a Diagrafic from a private seller in Asia (thank you internet). Trust me, this is not a trend. I’m not famous!!

Finding super cool watches with an even cooler name in NOS condition out in the wild... collector's dream.

Kudos to the person who saw the potential and offered them for auction. They did get a few people talking and interested in learning more.

My sources tell me the source of the NOS auction item was a Swiss watch dealer. Where he found it, I didn’t ask. Probably from some warehouse remnant in Switzerland

I also wonder about the hands on the upcoming auction lot. Besides being relumed the shape is funky. And the day of the week subdial is not dark blue. I haven’t seen this on any Diagrafic dial - either in advertisements from the era or among the NOS dial/mechanisms that have been up for sale on EBay recently. I asked Antiquorum about this and they assured me the hands are original but can we really trust those guys? I’m dubious

agree on both counts -- even if the subdial is supposed to be gold on this example, it doesn't pop nearly as much as the beautiful NOS blue one from back in November.
